If you have been considering starting a blog, now is the time. Blogging has never been more popular and in-demand than it is right now. There are many reasons why blogging is so great, but one of the main ones is that it can be monetized through ads or affiliate marketing links. In this blog post I will go over how to start your own blog and make money from it!

What is a Blog?

A blog is a website that contains content, typically written by one or more people who are referred to as “bloggers”.

Blogs can be personal and used just for blogging about things you find interesting. They can also be business-oriented with the goal of generating traffic and income through ads, sponsored posts, affiliate marketing links etc.

Why Should you start a blog?

One of the best reasons to start a blog is that it can be profitable. Bloggers make money from advertisements, affiliate marketing links or sponsored posts (this means they get paid for mentioning someone’s product in their content).

As a blogger you will have the opportunity to connect with your readers, build relationships and make money.

Bloggers are also entrepreneurs in their own business. They can set up blog goals and objectives that they would like to achieve and then work towards them day by day; this is much more fulfilling than just sitting around waiting for something good to happen!

This blog post will teach you exactly how to start a blog and earn some extra income from it!

Let’s start with the step by step guide how to start a blog and make money with it

Step One: Choose a Right Domain Name

This is the first step of starting a blog and making money with it! The domain name will be your website’s address. You can find lots of tutorials online on how to choose a good, memorable domain name; however there are some things you should keep in mind when doing so:

– Keep it short but easy to remember (think about what would make someone want to click on that link)

– Make sure the URL isn’t offensive or confusing – it doesn’t do much good if people donโ€™t know where they’re going!

You’ll also need an email account for sending out updates and getting followers interested in your content.

Step Two: Register a Domain and get Hosting

Once you have chosen an appropriate domain name for your new blog, make sure it isn’t already registered. If it is, try to purchase the domain name from whoever owns it.

Purchase a Domain Name

The first thing you need to do is purchase domain name. They are typically around $12 per year and can be purchased through Namecheap or any other website with domains available for sale. You can Get a FREE domain when you buy Shared hosting! from Namecheap. Your blog URL will follow this format:

Purchase hosting for the blog website

Choose a web host provider. If you think you’ll be writing lots of content or have video posts on your blog, it might be worth paying more money for a higher-end plan in order to avoid ads interrupting your work flow and slowing down site speed due to low bandwidth limits. It’s also important not just to choose any old company – research them first! Many companies will advertise very cheap prices but then charge hidden fees later over space limitations or charging for support.

Step Three: Create Your Blog Design

Now that you have a blog url and your own domain name with the hosting setup, all you need next is an attractive design for your blog! I recommend using Tumblr or WordPress since they are both free options. After installing whichever blogging platform of choice onto your computer, go ahead and set up a blog with a password (recommended) or sign in if you created one before. Once logged into WordPress (or whatever platform), go to Appearance > Themes and choose which theme best suits what type of content your new blog will be about – there are many different ones available on every blogging website so take some time looking through them until you find one that you like!

Blog designs

You can search and purchase an appropriate theme to use as your blogging platform. Not all themes are compatible with WordPress, so make sure you’re using one that is!

Set up your Blog’s Design

Take some time to think about what design best represents you as a blogger, and also what will work well with each post you create.

For starters, make sure that your layout has space for pictures, graphics or videos so it looks visually interesting instead of just being text on top of a plain background – this way people are more likely to stay engaged with reading through everything you’ve written (and not skip past the content). For example if I’m writing blog posts related to style then I might want my blog header image to be something like “A Fashionista’s Diary” while someone who shares recipes may have picture of salad and sandwich.

Step Four: Creating Content

Now it’s time to start writing blog posts. This might sound intimidating but really, blogging is quite easy and with the right tools it can be a very fulfilling hobby or even career if your blog becomes popular enough. You’ll want to create content for every major section of your blog – these sections are typically named “categories” on WordPress so keep that in mind when thinking about what type of content you should write there. For example, I have one called “Android” another entitled “Blogging” and yet another titled “Social Media.” Once you’ve decided which categories will make up your blog then all you need to do is think about topics within those categories.

Blog post

As you start writing blog posts, it’s important to remember that in order for people to find your content they need to be able to easily search for it. To do this, make sure the title of your post is SEO friendly and contains words or phrases that someone may use when searching online – these are called keywords and using them will help majorly with visibility. You’ll also want a good description which should contain as many keyword phrases as possible so again think about what people might search on Google if they were looking for information related to your blog topic.

Note: If you write long form content (like this) but don’t use paragraphs, you will not get as many reads because it’s hard to keep up when reading without them. It will also make it harder for us to edit later! ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope this makes sense.

Step Five: Promote your Blog

Promoting your blog is simple – all you need to do is mention it on social media and send an email out to friends, family and acquaintances. You can also post a link in the comments section of other blogs or websites that are related to your topic so readers know about where they can find more information from you.

Use social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter or Medium to share your blog post links with your followers/friends.

Social Media

Share on social media pages for relevant topics which can then be seen by people in search results who are looking for information related about the topic of your blog post.

If possible, try setting up Google Adwords for advertising purposes because this will let people who search for keywords related to what you write about come across your content through paid ads. This way, if someone wants advice on how to start their own blog or create good content online, they might see one of your posts featured as a suggested source when using Google!

Step Six: How to Make money from your blog

Once you promote your blog and grab the decent amount of traffic, you can now start monetizing your blog for profit.

First, I’ll tell you the two most common ways to make money from a blog and then we will go into detail about each one below:

– Paid Ads (you have probably seen these before while browsing on Google)

– Affiliate Marketing (this is when a company pays bloggers to market their product or service in exchange for earning commission once people buy it through the link provided by that blogger)

With both of these methods, there are positives and negatives so be aware!

Paid ads usually give higher commissions than affiliate marketing but they also cost more because you need to pay for ad space using “CPC” which means Cost Per Click. Commission usually will be a percentage of what the product cost. So, if your blog has many visitors then you can make more money with paid ads but it requires that many people are actually clicking on them so they don’t just get ignored on Google or Facebook.

For affiliate marketing, typically bloggers promote products they have used and know about themselves and often these products provide an excellent commission per sale because companies want their brand to be associated with well-known blogs in order to attract new customers!

Now let’s go into detail about each one below:

Paid Ads (aka “CPC”) is when someone pays advertising space for a blogger to post links back to them where readers click through and purchase something from the advertiser’s site.

Many bloggers host Google Ads and other types of ads on their blog and they will get paid when someone clicks-through to the site.

Paid ad platforms usually offer certain demographics and age groups for targeting so you can narrow down your audience as well. Most are free! (Example is AdSense)

Affiliate Marketing (aka “CPA”) is a process where advertisers pay commissions for promoting different products that have been vetted by affiliate networks like Amazon Associates or ShareASale. You could also find these offers via company websites affiliated with them or in partnerships with blogs who talk about said product/service at some point. The commission per sale varies from one vendor to another but it averages around 30%. Bloggers typically work with affiliate networks to earn commission on their blog posts

For bloggers who want to monetize blog content, they can also consider selling advertising space. This can be done by simply placing a small banner at the top or bottom of your site but you might find that if this is popular and people are following your blog closely then it will interfere with what you’re trying to say so make sure that it’s not obtrusive.
